I was JUST talking to a fellow blogger about how I feel a little weird blogging about blogging, then I went to Elizabeth's blog to check on what the topic for Top 3 Thursday was gonna be. And the topic is...
Oh, Bloggy Universe, you do have a sense of humor!
So. Why do I blog?
1.) People told me I should. Post-Sanjaya and Pre-Adam Lambert, I blogged about American Idol through MySpace. It was in my safe little private bubble, because whenever I went to AI forums there was a lot of hatin' going on in the comments, and I didn't want to get into all of that. So I just started writing about it and it was fun and people sometimes said it was good, and so I decided to keep writing about other random things. I never thought it would lead me to telling the (blog) world about the time it happened to me, but oh well.
2.) It is a wonderful creative outlet. I like to sing, but I haven't felt auditioning for the praise team at church is what I need to be doing, and who knows if I'd even make it again. I love love love drama (as in acting, not real life drama), but there isn't a drama team right now. Enter writing. Enter making some good use out of that side of my brain.
3.) It's mine, all mine. It would be incredibly awesome to get paid to write, but with a blog like this one, I set my own schedule, and I shouldn't get stressed about it. And whether I write about something profound (has that happened yet?) or something ridiculous, it doesn't really matter. Because it's mine, all mine!!!
And one of the greatest byproducts of blogging has been "meeting" some incredibly cool people. I mean, go check out my blog roll. There are some incredibly hilarious and genius women writing all over the place!
What about you? Why do you blog? Spill it on your blog, then link up with Confessions From A Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom!

So....do you still write about AI? I think Sanjaya ruined it for everyone! LOL!
Have a great day!

The last thing i expected when i started bloggin were the friendships. That having been said, I'm immeasurably grateful for them :)
You AND good, and we should ALL get paid to do this. But not so much that this turns stressful for anyone....
I was blinded by Sanjya and his banana clip...dude...
Blogging is so much fun...Even if half of what I write is mostly self indulgent and really sucks, It's still all mine and people can choose to read or back out of the room slowly....
I enjoy visiting your blog..it puts a smile on my face!
Love your #3!
I did this today, too. So glad Elizabeth gave us the excuse, since I feel weird blogging about blogging, too.
I blog because I can't tend to a garden. Seriously. I had a 4x10 ft garden in Alaska, 4 hanging baskets and several pots. It took up all my fun time.
Oh, and I like to write. Whether anyone else likes it I really don't care.
OK that's not true.
I am so thankful you are blogging!!! I read everyday!!
*By the way...
that was the first time I ever read your It Happened post! I was rolling but I am sorry it happened to you! You are brave woman to blog about it for the sake of humor!!!
Oh I like that...It's mine, all mine!
I just had a teeny moment of sappiness thinking back to the good ole days of the Myspaces.
Love that it is all mine too! As a mom, there is not much that is just mine anymore!
Oh, and I have tried P90X... BRUTAL! I have done Plyometrics, Ab Ripper, KenpoX, and Yoga. On most days, my ass hurt so bad the next day. But it always feels GREAT! My DH has lost 14 lbs already and is going to be such HOTNESS when he's all done!
I love drama too! And you! And writing! And good blogs!
So yay for us.
Also? Mr. America totes still invades my brain with nightmares. Should have included a warning. So...should I count you out for the poster size?
Oooo - It's all mine...great reason!
I agree on the whole "meeting people" thing. I love meeting people though blogging!
I blog because Shauna told me she thought I'd be good at it. And I like meeting people and promoting my goodies.
I blog because I have no life. Honestly, the only socialization I do is through blogging. Unless you count screaming at my kids as socialization.
My dad would always say...do you always do what other people tell you to? Huh, do yah!?!
Only kidding, i love that you blog, because I love reading your blog.
i started back in 2007 b/c my parents wouldn't get off my case about updating info about the kids...so i did and now it's turned into a little bit of everything ...ME ME ME
One reason for me is the design:) My blog design can be bold and girly with lots of pink...In real life I can't pull off a lot of pink! Lol! Great post!
I'm just like you - was "blogging" about Bachelor before I had a blog. If we don't spout our opinions about these shows, what good is watching them?!
