Super Man of the Month!

That's right!  It's time for another SUPER MAN OF THE MONTH!  If you want to get in on this action and brag on your man for a litte bit, send me a note at baptistness(at)gmail(dot)com!  Your story can be sweet, it can be funny, it can be however you want to tell the world (or at least those reading this blog) how awesome your husband is!  I have loved reading these stories!

And now, the moment you've been waiting for, our Super Man for the month of March is...

J.R.

I am excited to once again be sharing a story sent to me by someone I'm blessed to know in real life!  Thank you, Adina!  Let's see what she has to say about her Super Man...
Over the past few months, we've had some major life changes. JR has graduated from an intelligent 3.9 student to an intelligent Dr.! Furthermore, he was able to obtain a great position in which he can use his intelligence teaching at a Christian university. He's been an inspiration to me as this was his dream from 1995 when he was a Junior in high school. How many people actually set a goal and do whatever it takes to get there...even if it takes 14 years? I've been blessed to see his "style" of teaching and his cunning ability to connect with his students. His enthusiasm and joy is matchless and his ability to educate in a patient manner is superb. I believe his strengths of being patient, faithful, and joyful in everything he does is exhibited in every aspect of his life also. His gentleness was obvious with our first baby together, as his tear-filled eyes cut the umbilical cord. After we married, his faithfulness, goodness and love for our first child was legally displayed when he adopted my child as his very own. We've experienced many major life changes together: childbirth; 2 long-distance moves; home ownership and woes of hurricance desctruction; diagnoses of my neurological problem, deaths of friends and family. In everything he has given thanks to God and has been a strong, spriritual head for our family. He leads us in family prayers together whenever "big" things come up, such as FCAT's for Moriah, Dr appointments, times of sorrow, housing decisions, and prayer requests from friends. His choice to be who God has asked him and to apply it in every aspect of his life shows great strength and spiritual maturity. Galations 5:22-23 states "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control". We aren't given a "Midas touch" when we become Christians, but the fruit of the spirit is the character that grows in us over time. I fell in love with JR when I was 17 and couldn't imagine him being any more attractive than he already was....11 years later now, I realize how childish that thought was and how much more attractive he becomes daily as he walks with Christ.

Thank you again, Adina!  Please don't let me forget to get your mailing address so I can send you a little something!

I love starting the month this way!  Hope to hear from more of you soon!

Happy Monday, and Happy March!

What a wonderful tribute and a wonderful husband she has! I am also positive, however, that he would not have been able to do it without her by his side supporting him!
