Friendship.
That's my older daughter and her future husband friend.
That picture wasn't posed.
They just naturally fell into step with one another and held hands.
They've known each other since they were itty bitty babies.
I love their sweet, natural and comfortable friendship.
They aren't boy and girl.
They don't have cooties (yet).
They are just themselves together.
They are friends.

My daughter has a similar little friend. Now due to being in the military we are separated by miles. They flew out to visit us while his daddy was deployed & I caught very similar pictures of hugging, holding hands and just giggling together. It was just precious.

My best friend from age 7 and on was a boy, which some moms thought was weird. I'm very grateful that both our moms were like ehh they're friends, even through the teenage years! Now we're grownup and married (not to each other either!) but he's still one of my closest friends... :-)

My older children are contaminating my youngest child. She already thinks boys are gross, but just because her sisters tell her they are. I guess it's better than the alternative, thinking she is going to be someone's girlfriend already.
