"...let him labor, working with his hands what is good..." Ephesians 4:28
This one is almost too easy for me.
I don't think (think) that I take The Husband's job for granted. I mean, how could I? He has a job, and I am so thankful for that alone. The icing on the cake is that he's great at his job, and they let him know that they know he's great at it.
I also appreciate the fact that The Husband took a family into consideration long before he had one. He sought a career that would provide for a family, even one that would allow his wife to stay at home.
And here I am, able to stay at home with our girls because of the wise choices he made when he was in college. Because of the goals and priorities he set in place for himself then, I am benefiting now.
For me to resent his job, especially with employers that treat him so well, would be just plain dumb.
There was a time when it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows there, but he stuck it out. He didn't slack off because of it, he didn't whine, he just worked through it and I have so much respect for him because of that.
To The Husband... I am so proud of the work you do. I admire your work ethic. I appreciate the fact that you give so much of yourself at your job in order to provide for our family. I am so, so thankful that you were thinking of the needs of your family before we even met. My prayer today is that I will not ever take your job for granted, that I will be your biggest supporter when it comes to your career.
