Day Ten. Hey Good Lookin'.

30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge for Wives

"Behold you are handsome, my beloved! Yes, pleasant!..." Song of Solomon 1:16a

This one is easy peasy.  Because, as you can clearly see, The Husband is hot.

Okay, so you can't clearly see it, because he's not a huge fan of me taking his picture, but this is actually a favorite of mine, because I know behind that delicious Slurpee is The Husband after he hadn't shaved for a few days, and ohmyword.  Ohmyword.  Just thinking about it...

Wow.

I have always thought The Husband was attractive.  I remember the first time I ever saw him, and I remember how I stared.  I just could not take my eyes off of him.  He's good-looking on those rare occasions that he puts on a suit and tie.  He's a hottie when he's wearing an old t-shirt and shorts to mow the lawn.  Clean shaven or with three days' worth of stubble, it doesn't matter.  He. Is. Hot.

She asks what it was that first drew me to my husband... She asks if maybe it was his eyes.  I remember the first time I got to look in his eyes, and I was just at a loss for words.  They were the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen in my life.

And they still are.  Because his eyes haven't changed.

But beyond being physically attracted to him, there were other things I found attractive.  I enjoyed his personality, and I saw quickly how he liked helping others out when he was able to.  He was fun, and he could make me laugh.

She suggests if I see a glimpse of the things I found attractive in him before we were married.  Heck yeah!  I just have to not dismiss those things, you know?  He is still fun and he can still make me laugh, and that's awesome -- even when I'm in a craptastic mood and I don't want to have fun.  But for some reason, I seem to want to hold on to my bad mood.  That makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?  He's trying to make the situation better and I want to sit there and pout.  Brilliant.  Thank God he doesn't give up on me.  Thank God that he still makes an effort to keep me from being miserable, that it matters to him how I'm feeling!

Oh, Husband.  You know I think you're hot.  You are.  You just keep getting better looking the longer we're together, too.  I still get butterflies when you hold my hand.  And even though I seem to take it for granted, I am so thankful you still want to see me smile, and you want to be the one who makes me smile.  I love your personality, I love how you care about others.  I love how the things I loved about you in the beginning are still there.  I just love you.

So, does he read all these posts and blush?
